That's great for 'bleeding edge' TVs, however there will always be a need for add on boxes (whether from Virgin Media or others) that bring those services to cheaper / older TVs.

When the Sky basic channels weren't on Virgin TV, Virgin owned their own set of channels such as Living, Bravo, Challenge etc which did have a lot of original content from the US.
However these were sold in return for a more secure content agreements for the Sky channels
