Virgin Giving up on copper wire

I'm afraid I don't know if this is old news to you Guy's, last night a friend of mine who gets VM via I assume BT copper had the below come through, VM Copper going over to TalkTalk, I'm wondering if at the transfer date my friends contract could be ended by her.

Your Virgin Media services are moving to TalkTalk soon
Hello XXXXXX
We recently sent you a letter about transferring our non-cable broadband and home phone services (Virgin Media National) to TalkTalk.
We’ve made this decision because we want to focus on our superfast fibre optic cable network, and feel that TalkTalk is best placed to meet your needs.
For now, only your network is switching while we get ready to move your account over to TalkTalk. This means you're still a Virgin Media customer.
At a later date we'll move your account and billing over to TalkTalk (this is when you'll become a TalkTalk customer). We'll be in touch to let you know when this is happening.
Your switch date
Your Virgin Broadband and Virgin Phone services will move to TalkTalk’s network in 4 days from the date this email was sent. There might be a short outage but this should only last 20 minutes or so.
When this happens, please be aware that you’ll lose any saved voicemail messages. After the switch, if you use the Choose To Refuse service, you’ll need to re-enter the numbers you’ve chosen not to accept calls from.
If you’re using our Web Safe service, it might take a little longer for any changes you make to Web Safe after the switch to come into effect. There’s more about this on our FAQs page
Unfortunately as part of the move we'll no longer be able to provide the Virgin Media Webspace service going forward. If you use Virgin Media Webspace don’t forget to back up copies of your content before the switch so you don’t lose it.
For more information about the move, or to find out about things like what happens to your voicemail and email services, remember to take a look through our FAQs at virginmedia.com/nationalswitch
Please note: if you use a Lifeline service over your phone line, keep in mind that while your Virgin Phone service switch is taking place your Lifeline service won’t work. While the outage should only last 20 minutes we recommend keeping a mobile phone handy so you can contact relatives or the emergency services if you need to.
While we won't continue to offer you a Virgin Media service, we think TalkTalk have worked out some great deals for all of our customers. They'll write to tell you all about your new package at least 30 days before you become a TalkTalk customer. If for any reason you don't think the move is for you, and you'd like to go elsewhere, just call our team on 0345 454 2222*.
Kind regards,

Mark Davidson
