Playing devil's advocate here, I don't see anything that suggests his background, race, perceived religion etc played a part in the sentence. It does seem unduly light obviously but there are countless cases where criminals adhering to the type of demographic that people are hinting at in this thread have received long and "more justified" stretches inside.
I would have suggested mitigating circumstances such as an early guilty plea etc but it says he didn't answer any police questions. It's odd but I just can't see anything 'PC' going on here.
