Just come back to this thread after posting my essay nearly two years ago. Doesn't seem a lot has changed. I've sinced dumped all my Virgin TIVO boxes and am down to a single Sky+ HD box which is at a promo price and I rarely watch it. That may be going come the nest renewal as I also have an out of contract BT YouView box and freesat hd in some of my tv's. Virgin missed a huge boat with this technology. Also why don't either Virgin or Sky support the streaming of recordings from their STBs to tablets?
