It must simply be someone high up in sky refusing to accept the same bid virgin media gave a few years ago.
"But sir it makes sense now. the extra advertisement will make us a lot more money"
"NO! NO!"
"But sir the value of the channel has decreased now with Now tv available for VM. Yes VM have kept to their same bid but we should just now accept it and move on"
"NO! NO!"
"sir you're being stubborn for no reason here we have to be realistic and agree to the terms the channel isnt worth as much anymore? We can all win if we accept their bid"
"NO! NO!"
"at least explain why you dont want to give virgin media sky atlantic?"
"NO! NO!" (executive puts head on table and punches table aggressively)
its this kind of illogical leadership from sky which could see them lose the majority of EPL football for the first time in almost 25 years. They need to review upper management and the decisions theyre making currently.

Sky would not be the first company to offer a loss leader though Vince. Therein lies the problem. It may not be worth as much since Now TV were given rights for it but if they are still making enough profit to justify keeping it from all the other providers, why not keep it away from the rest?
