They do upscale to 1080 but i wouldnt warrent getting a 4k TV at the moment as the content is still very limited.

If u think about it 1080HD channels are still very limited at this time so its gonna be a good few years before 4K really takes off and by that time prices would have dropped and newer technology would have come along giving u more for your money.
