I have always tried to find the good in people and not tar them all with the same brush. Sometimes it pays off and good friendships or relationships have developed, but I have been burned quite a few times, usually by people who think they should behave like their stereotypes. Those are the types that seem to be in the majority of recent immigrants in our area, shunned and often detested by their peers.
And that is why the recent immigration "overload" appears to be having a "racist" backlash. Here in Cardiff it's obviously aimed at Kurds (of many nationalities) and Roma (of many nationalities), not at all the Polish, Pakistanis, Chinese, Somalian or whatever.
