Clearly UKIP are starting to batten down the hatches in an attempt to keep internal affairs just that.

Aside from this particular situation and the various earlier suspensions and dismissals over entirely inapproprite comments recently there has been the suspension of the entire Lambeth Branch where "Ukip declined to say what the investigation will look into or why it was launched" and the advice from Steve Crowther that UKIP members shouldn't join Twitter or Facebook.

Perhaps they are starting to realize that they are being, and will continue to be, held to account for the actions and comments of their membership.

Man in the pub politics is fine in the pub, it's a different matter altogether when you are seeking a mandate from the electorate.
