Henry was not the first or last person who didn't own up to a handball leading up to a goal. It happens all the time. What did everyone expect him to do? Go to the referee and say it wasn't a goal, that he had handballed it? It would have been a great act of sportsmanship but also an extremely rare one. Ireland themselves won a dubious penalty in the run up to the qualifiers and amazingly Robbie Keane didn't refuse to take it out of sportsmanship either. Roy Keane said it best:

Thankfully that one incident hasn't become all he is famous for however much some had hoped it would in the aftermath.
