The search facility (when it works!) on the V+ seems to be able to pick up programmes beyond the populated EPG. I find this especially useful now that the V+ EPG has again been reduced by one day.

I had assumed that it simply searched the EPG, does it get it's data from somewhere else?

Does TiVo do this any differently?
