They were talking about this on the Jeremy Vine show the other day and made an interesting point that for those who are 'outraged' at the idea of a woman breastfeeding in public, most of the time they've never actually witnessed it happening and some were under the impression it involved the mother sitting there doing it while topless. One elderly male caller was taken aback at the reality of it not being that way, he paused for a few moments before asking "How else do they do it then?"
If the OH wants to naturally-feed my 5 month old son in public then she's going to do so and I feel sorry for anyone making a fuss about it, she's pretty tenacious
but at the same time she's not going to be deliberate about it just to cause a stir. If she can be discreet then she will do so (after all it's about feeding the baby, not 'how much can we deliberately annoy people') however her priority is our son and not the avoidance of 'offence'.
