Second interesting fact: Nothing's against the law until there is a law against it, and there's a lot of things that people don't like that aren't enough of a problem for someone to have actually made a law against it. Indeed, that is correct. Sorry to hear your Mrs had to go through the employment tribunal though, funny enough that's the same scenario I was in when I first had to read up on the law regarding these things :-P
