Just to clarify the uk television output uses 50hz but when playibg games the xbox will use 60hz.

The hz setting in the xbox 1 tv settings is purely to stop the stuttering for a tv signal that needs 50hz as opposed the th e usa 60hz system.
I hear ya, I thought it was just for the tv, which I don't intend to connect to be honest, I will have to get busy googling to see if it's a common issue, I will in the mean time swap out the Hemingway cable that came with the console just in case it's faulty. Thanks as usual gents
