Yes it is a Samsung V+.
So far I have been using the SCART connection, and from memory I think the HDMI output disappeared after the boot up. I'll check again tonight.
I'll also try setting the DVD output to 720p and 1080i (if that's possible) to duplicate the V+ output.
If the DVD works, then it sounds as if the HDCP may have failed in the V+ box.
