Once he passed we limited his driving for the first few months till he gained some more experience as my brother in law who is a policeman advised us to do that.

Yup, good old fashioned thrift.

It's a subject far too many folks have forgotten about. Our lad doesn't smoke, hardly drinks, doesn't change his phone every 5 minutes etc. and consequently has managed to save up for a rainy day. They should teach it in schools because clearly a great many parents can't.
