dual boot slow

have install windows XP and windows 8.1 as dual boot.
windows XP install on first partition and windows 8.1 install on second partition on the same hard disk drive.

when i chose windows XP it takes long time to boot into windows XP.
i want to know why booting to windows XP takes long time.

when i chose windows 8.1 it boots quicker.
but when i restart windows 8.1 it takes long time to restart.
