The issues it has will all be solved including the lockup. That's all I can say without getting into trouble due to a NDA. Mine failed in 3 different ways.
1 Locked up at boot FLOD. 2 was DOA and wifi never worked (faulty unit) and 3 locked up at boot with just a red power led. Interestingly I have still got my original (first) SH2 from the trials and its rock solid so I expected the ac to be the same as its running nearly the same hardware. Same DOCSIS chip. The Intel puma 5. The sh1 used a Broadcom DOCSIS chip and was fine in modem mode.
By the way the FLOD sh2ac was in modem mode. Current sh2ac is in router mode.
