I've found retentions to be very helpful in saving money, as Old Boy says above. I tend to give them a ring once a year and they can usually find savings somewhere (or upgrades for the same money). They don't mind too much if you admit that you're not 'thinking of leaving'
They're much easier to deal with than regular customer services.
