Manchester United splashed out £150m this summer but that's small change when they are raking in millions from sponsors United made £152m in 2012-13 and expect an increase to £240m this season

Reading newspaper articles about United over the past month has made me laugh, journalists at first saying the squad needs investment and won't compete unless they spend money. Then when they spend money the same journalists write articles saying that the club have panicked and are trying to buy their way back to the top. Olliver Holt at the mirror is one of the worst:
Quote:
Woodward must act fast and boldly. Otherwise, another season of mediocrity beckons. Maybe not but if United do not make significant acquisitions in the transfer market in the next fortnight, a bleak landscape stretches ahead.

Man United's Radamel Falcao transfer shows they have panicked and joined in the rich clubs' lucky dip

Criticises them for not spending money and then critcises when they do, its poor journalism just trying to wind people up. I still don't believe buying a world class player that will definitely improve your squad can ever be considered a panic buy.
