I'd give them a call and ask to be compensated for this unsatisfactory service in some way for the inconvenience and disappointment- after all, it's not as if it was a film that will be shown and could be fully enjoyed in the future. This should also prompt them to investigate why this happened and take appropriate action against any VM employees found to be failing in their duties.
I also doubt that Sky would be happy that their efforts to increase Sky Sports subscriptions via VM are being undermined in this way.
This is also a matter for the Advertising Standards Authority and possibly Trading Standards.
