Perhaps AMC Networks may also launch Sundance and IFC, channels that shows arthouse films, too.

AMC also owns Chellomedia (now rebranded to AMC Networks Intertnational) which runs CBS Reality, CBS Drama etc in a joint venture with CBS/Viacom. Now that CBS/Viacom has almost bought Channel 5 and it runs a lot of channels in the UK, perhaps AMC may do a deal with CBS/Viacom to fully purchase some of the CBS branded channels to enable Sundance and/or IFC to launch.

AMC say they will also launch HD, VOD and tv everywhere versions of their channel.
Another article on the launch of AMC here. It looks like the MGM channel is being replaced by the AMC channel in the regions where Chello ran the MGM channel. However, in the UK the MGM channel was run in conjunction with BSkyB till its closure so there is no existing MGM channel here to be simply rebranded as AMC. http://www.broadbandtvnews.com/2014/...ebrand-as-amc/

Also, CBS and Viacom are independent companies so should not be clumped together as a single entity.
