Here's some statistics, 'cause I love statistics, to try paint an interesting picture.......or maybe not

I've taken viewing stats from BARB for SKY Atlantic, and SKY Atlantic+1, from the last week of every month this year. I didn't want to go over the top by listing every week so far this year but wanted to show a consistent snap shot.

January:

SKY Atlantic (661,000)
SKY Atlantic+1 (66,000)

= 727,000

February:

SKY Atlantic (871,000)
SKY Atlantic+1 (89,000)

= 960,000

March:

SKY Atlantic (701,000)
SKY Atlantic+1 (72,000)

= 773,000

April:

SKY Atlantic (899,000)
SKY Atlantic+1 (83,000)

= 982,000

May

SKY Atlantic (950,000)
SKY Atlantic+1 (101,000)

=1,051,000

June

SKY Atlantic (820,000)
SKY Atlantic+1 (84,000)

=904,000

Total = 5,397,000

So on average SKY Atlantic gets a daily reach of 899,500. With 10,600,000 TV customers that means 8.5% of SKY viewers tune in on a regular basis.

If SKY Atlantic became available on all pay TV platforms there would be a potential reach of 16,800,000 (SKY 10.6 million, Virgin 3.8 million, TalkTalk 1 million, BT 1 million and UPC 400,000). If the viewing percentage of 8.5% carried over to a reach of 16,800,000 SKY Atlantic would get roughly 1,428,000 viewers per day. This then pushes the channel into the top 5 pay TV Entertainment channels ahead of FOX, on par with Comedy Central and GOLD and behind SKY Living and SKY One.

Of course the other SKY basics aren't on BT, and not all 16,800,000 pay TV customers will have access to the channel, but even with a bit of a swing in figures SKY Atlantic stays in the top 5.

P.S. I factored in +1 viewing figures for GOLD, FOX, SKY Living and SKY One when considering Atlantic's position compared to other pay TV exclusive channels.
You see, I've read this post and can't help thinking that it proves the opposite point that you were trying to make.

The inescapable conclusion is that you have far too much time on your hands Since you have Sky I can only assume this is because there is nothing worth watching on Atlantic!
