Personally I think that would be a foolish move from SKY. They are already swimming against the tide due to competition from cheaper rivals who represent more value for money.
I can confirm 100% that SKY are keeping a very close eye on all of their competitors at the moment be it BT, Google or Sony PS4. I know this as I participate in their research groups. One message coming through loud and clear is customers are actively looking at better value options, and are not afraid to shop around. Long term customers, who have been blindly loyal for years, have started waking up to the alternatives. SKY are very aware of this.
Prices will always go up of course, but not as sharply as feared. SKY will continue to offer "gimmick deals" to persuade people to stay.
