The collaboration includes an extended content output deal to ensure that Sky Atlantic remains the exclusive home of first-run HBO programmes in Britain and Ireland through 2020.

Cheers OB, I agree I think it only covers exclusive rights first to air shows only. I just felt others may read the underlined few words as exclusive rights being attached to everything. I don't think it does, time will tell though.
I hope VM get something for their customers who want the content though.
I would hate for people on here to get their hopes up of possibly getting SA content on VM, only for it never to arrive.
I figured I would offer a bit of balance in case they do not.
In addition to linear broadcast, the output deal supports a broad range of multiplatform rights, ensuring HBO content will continue to be available live and on demand not just on TV, but online and on mobile through Sky Go. Sky Atlantic is also available live and on demand through NOW TV, Sky's new internet TV service.
As I say, I agree with your idea and if I remember correctly, I seem to recall news of HBO doing a deal with Amazon in the states a few days ago regarding their back catalouge. IF they did (happy to be corrected if they did not) it would suggest it could easily happen over here.
