I aren't too bothered about having this channel from launch either.
As others have said, it will initially show repeats. Even if it is still in it's exclusivity period when new content starts to be shown, my understanding is that it will premier on Encore first and then be shown on ITV shortly afterwards. I can wait, especially as I often tend to record a complete series before watching it anyway
As for the asian channnels, VM obviously believe that there are enough of them in this country (that will take Pay TV) to make it a worthwhile business venture.
