Hell, even 7zip uses 45GB to compress files with maximum settings.

The side effect being you can do just about anything else you want without worrying about running out. Plus given how cheap it was (when I bought it... costs twice as much today) and the fact a lack of RAM is often the biggest thing slowing down a computer, more is always better.
