Snow Sky proved far too good for his rivals in the Betfred.com Derby Trial Stakes at Lingfield.

Double Bluff tried to make all the running and was still in the lead with three furlongs to go, but they were lining up in behind to challenge, with the Sir Michael Stoute-trained Snow Sky (5-1) making smooth progress to hit the front in the Khalid Abdullah colours.

Jim Crowley did not have to be too hard on him to run out a two-length winner over Hartnell, with Godolphin's Sudden Wonder making eyecatching late progress to claim third, a further half a length adrift. Aidan O'Brien's challenger Mekong River was a major disappointment.

Beckett strikes with Honor.

Honor Bound proved the best of trainer Ralph Beckett's three entries as she landed the Betfred £7.5 Million Scoop6 Today Oaks Trial Stakes at Lingfield.

Queen's Prize set the early gallop, with 11-4 favourite Casual Smile seemingly poised to challenge on the inside rail, until Momentus and Criteria began to race in earnest.

Casual Smile found nothing for pressure and faded out while, in contrast, Honor Bound flew inside the final furlong. The 12-1 chance edged out Criteria by a nose in the hands of Joe Fanning, who was replacing the injured James Doyle, with a further length and three-quarters back to Momentus.
