My friend needs a new laptop but I'm not entirely sure which to advise. Budget is £500-600 max. He needs it for remote server management, visual studio, office and personal use including streaming movies etc. he wants a 17" screen. as for other bits/ports, all the works really, best bang for buck fast processor, fair amount of RAM, DVD/CD-RW + Blu-Ray drive, decent graphics. I'm not sure about the OS, I read use
www.classicshell.net works well with W8 because of its crap interface but is it worth the hassle or would going for W7 as an OS be better?
He had a HP and seems to like the manufacturer but I'm not that impressed by this as a replacement >
