I'm not privy to the detail on those upgrades (I'm referring here to downstream). Any DOCSIS 3 bonded channel segment can be configured for 152 meg; it's just a question then of congestion. So my guess is that the upgrades required in most cases are in the form of a simple resegmentation involving more line cards and possibly CMTs.

So all yous getting early upgrades to 152/12 may expect growing congestion until your area has been resegmented.
I agree with this. My cmts (sotn8) has been slowly getting worse in the peak times when more often than not, I would not be able to get the headline speeds. With the new speed tiers available for new and existing customers (who ask for it), the problem will now get worse at a faster rate.

Even this (Sat) morning when you might expect a lightly loaded network, I am unable to match the figures quoted by others who have upgraded to 152/12 e.g.

The sad news is that all of these tests are using Virgin speedtest.net servers (so when I log a call there is no wiggle room on their part)

I can only conclude than sotn is awaiting the resegmentation you refer to ...
