If that were true, that would be downright dishonest. I, for one, would complain to the regulator. I'll let you know how I get on when I ring CS.

My conversation with VM chat just now:-

Jonathan: Hi, welcome to Virgin Media. How can I help?
Jonathan: Just type your question below…
You: Yes please. I just entered my post code looking for the best virgin deal in my street. It says I can get 152Mb. Is that true?
Jonathan: I will be happy to answer your question about the Broadband speed.
Jonathan: Can I have your complete address along with your postcode to check for the required information?
You: 23, ***********, Coventry. CV3 ***
Jonathan: Okay, great news - you're in a Virgin Media cable area. That means we'll be able to bring our services to you by fibre optic cable, specially designed for digital services.
Jonathan: Your address is capable of getting upto Broadband 152Mb with us.
You: If I were an existing customer in this area, on 120Mb could I have that as an upgrade?
Jonathan: Yes, Broadband 120Mb has been upgraded to Broadband 152Mb.
You: So mt neighbour at number 25 on 120 Mb can ring now for that upgrade?
You: *my
Jonathan: Yes, he can upgrade the package. Infact, we'll automatically upgrade his package to Broadband 152Mb without any additional cost.
You: OK. So he doesn't have to wait until August 2014 the date on which his upgrade will happen automatically.
Jonathan: No, our existing customer's don't need to wait for the package upgrade. If there's an upgrade from Virgin Media, we upgrade the package at the same time.
You: THat is great. I'll let him know. Cheers Bye!!

Well! There you have it guys. You CAN upgrade now.

I think this is really dishonest way of dealing with existing customers. Why do that!
