Re: Speed increase: how much paid, how much free?

This happens relatively frequently

I was on 50 or 60 MB back a few years ago when it was one of the fastest speeds available.

Due to financial constraints I had to downgrade my XL everything package and I dropped to the Small or Medium 10 MB package.

Shortly afterwards Virgin did one of their 'we're upping your speed no charge things' and I went up to 20

A year or so after that, again to 30 MB again no charge (bar the usual price increases you get anyway)

And now, at some point in the spring I'll be back on 50 lol and it hasn't cost me a penny really.

I don't think that I was tied into a new 12 month contract either when these changes happened. After all it's Virgin making the changes not the the customer requesting them.
