This is actually an example of when I think insurance can be a double edged sword..
Unfortunately, I think it's a case of medical bills having gone up because of insurance (after all , the companies can afford a lot higher bills than individual consumers), then the insurers have to put up their prices to cover the increasing medical bills.
Another example. Vet's prices. Prices for treatments at all my local vets surgeries have gone through the roof since the large insurance companies started offering pet insurance.
