At least with streams nowadays you can always watch it live if it's not on tv, or even find a radio station online that's giving commentary of it. Remember the days when you'd only get live radio commentary of one game, and that might not be yours. Then they'd say there's been a goal at your match, and they'll be going there in a minute or so to tell you who scored, leaving you panicking if it's a goal for you or not. And those days of the videprinter at 4-40 on a Saturday. I'm getting all nostalgic here. For a laugh I might block all the Tivo channels bar 1, 2 and 3 one day.
