I started playing Ryse last night. I'm actually enjoying it so far!
The combat is quite repetitive, and there only seem to be three different types of filthy British Barbarian
but the story is interesting enough to keep me going, plus there are enough cutscenes to break up the combat.
The only other hack 'n' slash I've played that I actually enjoyed was Heavenly Sword, because the characters, story, and voice acting were all good. I found God of War boring, DMC4 boring, and Ninja Gaiden boring plus frustrating!
I played up to part-way through chapter 4 last night in one sitting. Done the beach landing ("Saving Private Marius"), and signed off at the start of the York bit.
