I don't think you can ever call signing a proven, world class player as a panic buy. Maybe if it's the only signing we make it could be considered a little panicky otherwise I don't buy that idea. |
I base that on two points. Man Utd needed to do something, or the season could potentially get worse. And the current assessment is that Mata is duplicating what you have (someone to play behind the striker), whilst a more out and out central midfielder is needed.
But...I did say..in one sense it is,,,hence my clarifying comments.
And, it is a player lots of clubs would like, my other caveat.
