I was told it should be a shovel depth think about it, it does make sense if you think about it, as when you dig the garden if it is not laid to a certain depth and buried only in shallow ground it will get cut, whereas if buried correctly little chance of this happening anyway I'm getting off my problem here as it should not be on my land...but I have also heard that VM are really bad at laying cables as they do seem to tend to lay them incorrectly/lazily... quite when you think about it....
