I assume you have some overlap with retaining VM in parallel with BT Infinity install - although it seems you might have given 30days notice to VM already?
Have you checked/confirmed what "user satisfaction", if any, BT offer (other than statutory 7 days distance buying cancellation) if the instal doesn't meet your expectation (or exceed VM's current degraded service) within say a month?
Not that you have much choice other than to gamble with BT as VM's Lancing service on your node will likely further degrade as you also predict over next 9months+ to Sept2014!
Seems you're between a "rock and a hard place" again....

Yep, I feel pretty stuck.
My VM is due to be terminated on Feb 10th, BT Infinity to be installed on Feb 3rd, If they hold that date. If worst comes to worst on the Infinity install I will push Virgin back for another month and hopefully they will credit me still for the degraded service. I almost want to keep the VM BB so I can monitor it over the coming months - I guess I could still get credits every month?
I feel rather deluded by the whole experience - urrgghh!!
P.S. BT have told me I have 14 days cooling off period from activation day - Hope that is true.
