The only media reports I've read about Sky Atlantic potentially coming to Virgin Media were in
Broadcast in an article dated 27 June 2013. If you Google "Virgin back in Sky Atlantic talks" you can read the article in full.
The article included the following

This was before the BT Sport deal was done so possibly Virgin was considering Sky Atlantic and other channels as a Plan B if it did not agree a deal for BT Sport
I think the same
Broadcast article was referred to again in September which reignited the speculation!
