4G works just fine with one "bar" of signal. In fact it usually works better than 3G, and continues working even after 3G has cut off completely.
That's despite 4G currently being run at much lower transmitter power levels, because you can't make phone calls on 4G.

If thats the case then why do my calls go silent, break up and cut off? Even when i turn phone onto 3G instead of 4G calls still do the same most times. Sometimes it will show 4 bars and then all of a sudden it will drop to 1 bar, this is on 3G
