That's not right - Whatsapp doesn't use MMS

Also, re the other length of message / group message cost, it depends on the app. For instance Hangouts when used for SMS converts it into MMS when sending to a group (it's now been updated so you can turn this off), and different SMS apps will turn it into MMS for long messages (Samsung's default message app does it after 3)
