I was stunned to receive a bill 5 times my normal amount. I investigated it and it seems I have sent a plethora of mms messages; only I have not. I never send them as they are an additional cost. I usually send them via what's app, which I presume relies on a data and internet connection, thus no extra charge.

However upon calling VM I am told they are billed as MMS! As are group messages and any messages over 162 characters.

I am amazed at a text of 163 characters can be charged as MMS. Is this right? It is what I was told today.

How much more of what I was told is correct and how can it be the case?

I must add that all additional charges were rescinded when I enquired.
