This is how VM have decided to package it, so it is for us to decide what is best for us.

We can all quibble about channels on our packages that we don't ever watch and don't want to pay for, but we have only ever been able to choose between packages.

If Sky, BT, Talk Talk etc offer a more attractive package in the eyes of existing subscribers, then I suppose customers will make up their minds where they want to be and each provider will work out how to best pitch their offerings from the results of those customer choices.

I don't watch BT Sports, but you only need to look at the reaction when it became apparent that this would be part of the XL pack to realise that this was a good move for VM. I am happy with it because I think it makes VM a better proposition, and the more subscribers VM gets, the more money they make that will ultimately benefit us in terms of investment.

My only niggle is that I wanted Netflix to be part of the XL pack. That way, there would have been something for film/drama fans as well as sports fans.

I they had announced a reasonable price rise, then non sports fans would have been happy to accept giving sports fans a freebie. But because of the size, people are looking at what has possibly contributed to the large amount and giving away a premium service FOC has to be part of it.
