This story, amusing as it sounds first appeared in August of last year on a self-confessed humour site where there was absolutely no doubt that it was all completely made-up.

What's interesting is how it gets taken up and then spread around for a while only to die back and then reappear months later as a 'new' story and get posted on various sites.

Which reminds me of a story my daughter (now 12) told me a few years ago. Near Christmas time she was beginning to think that the whole 'Father Christmas' theory of presents might have a few holes in it. However her faith was rekindled when I showed her younger sister the NORAD track Santa website.

"I wasn't sure about Father Christmas", she said "but Daddy had it on his computer and I thought if it is on the internet then it has to be true!"
