The grass isn't always greener as they say. Our current package is £121.99 per month with VM. Basically the VIP deal with a third box and a couple of additional phone services. Sky's offer came in at £117.75 per month for the closest match I could make plus £164 upfront costs. Crucially for me is that I would also need to add a BT Sports subscription which I think is £15 per month. This would mean that the total cost over 12 months would average £146.22 per month.
After 12 months the difference becomes even worse as Sky's "normal price" is £143.25 per month and I would still need to add on the BT Sports subscription.
A couple of other things worth mentioning I suppose is that Sky quote a broadband speed estimate of 40 Mbps as opposed to the 120Mbps I get from VM, and fortunately I'm in an area that actually gets the advertised speed consistently. We also have three VIP SIM Only Mobiles packages with VM where we get unlimited everything for £15 per month. We'd lose the discount on these if we were to move to sky too.
The reason for posting this was to ask if anyone can see something I'm missing. Lots of people seem to be saying that they are getting cheaper deals moving to sky and I was surprised to see that even with their supposed 25% discount they are coming out at around £20 per month more than Virgin. That's after factoring in Virgins price increase and before any increase Sky impose.
Any ideas or suggestions would be very welcome. I know I can downgrade if necessary save money if necessary but am interested in how people seem to be finding Sky cheaper, yet I find them significantly more expensive. Is it just the mix of services we have?

Ring them tell them you ain't happy and you can get sky tv on half price deal and if they start saying you are in contract reming them you have 30 days to cancel after recieving letter I got £5 per month deducted till my contract runs out I was going to cancel TV and keep broadband and phone
