I know that some will find it hard to believe that Sky will ever come to an accommodation with BT, but you have to consider the alternative. Sky won't bankrupt itself, the guys making strategic decisions can see where all this is leading.

In the end, the best arrangement will be for Sky, BT, BBC and ITV to collaborate, which will eliminate any likely competition, resulting in a lower bid and bigger profits all round.

What's wrong with that?

Competition will bring results for the consumer, but it may be a little while in coming.
