So If you definitely want to cancel you can give your notice any time. They will try to tell you it's a 31 day notice period but if you state that you know about the new rules they should apply your notice anyway.

Any ETC applicable is only the amount of time you have left in the minimum package you could subscribe to for that period, so £21.50 per month or £32 per month if you are in a HD contract. For tel and broadband contracts it is much less than your normal monthly subscription as it's only allowed to be the cost they would incur minus any savings they would make by not having to provide that service anymore.

So it's very unlikely to cost anything near £100 with only 7 weeks left. £50 at most I'd bet.
Cheers for the info. I've found a list of SKY's early termination charges:

Whilst the info seems straight forward, I'm not sure how the charges are relevant to me. I'm on a 50% off deal. Some of those charges are actually higher than what I pay for month. For example I only pay £3.75 per month for broadband but it looks like I'll be charged £8.75 for each remaining month. It's the same for HD. I pay £5.12 per month but will be charged £7.44 for each remaning month.

I think I'll need to give them a call as this could get expensive.
