Bah I've come to the conclusion that the quality of the DAC circuit in the iPad is utter crap. I've tried using Sampletank, Sunrizer and a couple of other software instruments in rehearsal via midi interface (because my big sampling/master keyboard doesn't fit in my car) but never been able to get a decent sound out if it.
Practically everything sounds like Brian Eno playing the glockenspiel inside a skip
