It's never inaccurate to the same amount. Phones take a periodic 'snapshot' which by its nature will never be the same twice.
I went out on a 3.2 mile (approx 5k) run last night as per my Garmin. The Nike+ app on my phone recorded it at 3.5 miles. If I was using that to get a good time on a 5k it would be useless.
