As Andy says everything is controlled now by virgin and it isn't a case of just plugging another box in and hey presto.

Have you already had cable installed as I would think you'd only ever have one activation fee if you hadn't to install two boxes into your house? Plus I'm paying 4.99 for a TiVo box in my bedroom. Totally worth a fiver for TiVo. If you have already had the first box installed you could call virgin up and see if they'll waver the additional activation fee?
