Re: [MERGED] Windows 8 discussion

Microsoft to Roll Out Windows 8.1 at 4 AM PDT (11 AM GMT)

Microsoft will release Windows 8.1 RTM in the Store today, with a new report claiming that the global rollout will begin at 4 AM PDT (11 AM GMT).

According to TechCrunch, the Windows 8.1 update will be launched gradually across the world, with the Unites States to be among the first countries to get it.

Windows 8.1 will be available as a free download from the Windows Store and Microsoft has already made the necessary adjustments to make sure that everyone would be able to download it via multiple updates.

This morning, Windows 8.1 got lots of app improvements, as Microsoft wants all RTM machines to be running the latest versions of the built-in tools at the time when the official launch takes place.

Starting tomorrow, users will also be able to purchase retail packages of Windows 8.1, with the core license to be priced at $119.99 (€90), while the Pro version will cost $199.99 (€150)
